I used to drive the odd, old Landcruiser on farms in the late 60s, early 70s - but was mainly into motorbikes. Finally got my own 4WD back in 2013 - Toyota Prado 120 series, 1KZ-TE motor. Great machine, very reliable, and great camping vehicle. Pretty good off road too, but I always aspired to something else. Initially, I was in fact keeping my eyes open for a Pinzgauer 712M or K - but common sense took hold, and in March this year (2020), I picked up a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series GX/Standard. Simple, reliable etc. It was untouched - basic 1HZ, no turbo, and only 340,000km - just run in. My style of vehicle... Starting to make mods, etc etc.
1995 HZJ80R, chopped, 1HD-T w front intercooler etc, bought Aug 2025
