Sorry for wasting anybodys time - with more time to assess, it is, of course, to the starter motor ffs. That mess of wiring plugs is so tight in there and hard to get into, just missed the female plug tucked underneath starter once it was off the hoist. What a job its been.
Hi folks,
I have reinstalled engine into my 1990 Hdj81 and have an orphaned single wire (red/black) male plug. It comes off the main harness, short lead down by the rest of the connectors near engine oil dipstick. Its been 1.5 years since I pulled the engine and having no recollection of this...
Hi folks,
In my Toyota gasket kit 04111-17020 I have a ~78 mm aluminum crush gasket that has a mint green coating on either side. Its been a year since my 1HDT teardown and I don't recall encountering this part. Anybody know what it is for?
Cheers
Thats great to know @Outono ! Thanks very much for adding this info. This will help alot of us who are in the situation with rebuilds, and further confirms what others have indicated for use of later pistons. Informed decisions - thats why this forum is such a great resource.
Cheers
Also hitting up this old thread lest somebody might have updates on this topic. Can anyone using the later pistons (bigger bowl) with their pre-1992 injectors and pump follow up on longer-term outcomes of making the switch (with the later, thicker injector seats). I need to make the choice. I...
I have a wiring harness for towing, but i have never used it. So, when you used your turn signal it cancelled cruise, but did it throw the flashing error or were you able to reset without restarting the engine? Thats interesting @Dork, I hadnt considered towing wiring as a possible source for...
Thanks @Turbobrick211 - thats interesting. I've thought the brake signal isnt involved cause of the flashing error code but who knows. For a period of time mine would set then after a short while (like 5 mins) just kick off with the flasing error. Then lately it wouldn't set at all. At some...
While this thread is inactive, I'm sure others will continue searching for info on the cruise control. I don't have solution, but I have the exact same symptoms as described by Andrew. I changed the speed control sensor to no avail. Still hoping some else may have identified this problem and...
Theres cold and there is COLD. I run a Webasto hydronic unit off an auxiliary battery. I rewired the fan for the rear heat exchanger to auxilliary so starting batteries are not involved unless i choose to connect. The block and oil pan are kept warm all night and, importanly, this heat...
Im still waiting for my rebuilt injectors to be returned. I have gone the rebuild route. With down time so far Im thinking I should have pulled the pump at the same time for bench testing. Gut feeling is that Im gonna end up doing that way anyway.
I replaced the thermo wax plunger gizmo years...
New to the forum - I'm adding this some months on but felt compelled to express thanks to HillCountryTX for the effort. The trick for tapping them up worked sweet and eased my stress level of maybe screwing something up on a first time job.
Engine running got progessively rougher and not...
