2Gen Sequoia Auburn Locker - Noisy AF Now :(

For the good of the group, I need to update that my noise ended up being due to bad tires - the sidewalls were failing/separating on the insides of all four tires and one or two finally on the outer walls. I had the tires replaced under warranty and the noise went away immediately!! It was a...

    ‘08 Sequoia Bumper Mount Yielding

Well, I finally had time to dig into this issue and have successfully girded up the bumper mounts. After I pulled the bumper off, I found the thin, cheap ass DV8 Off-road bumper mounts to be the culprit. I used 6x6 L bracket material that’s 3/8 thick to remedy the issue. If this bumper ever...

This cooler - oil cooler? - I wreaking a havoc too. Another idea I had was to use c-channel as my mounting plate….the gears ⚙️ are turning 🧠⚙️…

    ‘08 Sequoia Bumper Mount Yielding

So here’s two ideas I’m kicking around and would like some feedback on: 1.Leave the factory 14mm pressed in bolts since there’s limited access to the back side to put in new ones. 2. Get threaded rod (blue) and bolts (red and purple) and hope there’s enough space? I’m doubtful there’s enough to...

Running the DV8 Tundra Bumper. The plate was flat, but it’s bent down and back ever so slightly. I’m going to be modifying/girding it up since it’s essentially worthless to pull me out of any real life situation. Sadly, I wish I knew how weak these mounting points on a Sequoia/Tundra are

    ‘08 Sequoia Bumper Mount Yielding

Man, you aren’t wrong about that, @lcwizard !! I’ve got some modifications to do. I’m wishing I knew this before trying to pull with my truck. Problem is, there’s not a lot of space and room for welding gussets, but I’m going to be welding some thicker plates onto the mount location and probably...

    ‘08 Sequoia Bumper Mount Yielding

So, over a year ago, I was using my winch and bent the bumper out of alignment. I finally got around to looking at the issue. Looks like the bumper mounts yielded a little bit. :( Trying to decide if I want to try and bend it back and weld on some gusseting or just roll with it. Anyone ever...

And I tested it for continuity to make sure it was providing an open/close feedback. I agree that your issue is sounding more like the micro switch being the issue and confusing the system where its brains are.

My micro switch had audible feedback. And springiness to it - “click-click” (down/up). Sorry, I can’t help on an LX (I’m a Sequoia guy) Side note: If you could show the breather hose in the engine bay - I’m trying to find mine in my Sequoia. 😬🙏🏻😎

I unplugged my module after hooking everything up and disconnected my battery too in an effort to clear any fault codes. Check out in this video where to find it. It’s on the passenger side kick panel. Do you hear any clicking coming from there when you engage. It sounds like you’re close. I...

FWIW, you did a hell of a lot better job cleaning yours than I did mine, but mine has worked flawless for almost two years now. 👍👍

Thanks for reminding me that I’ve yet to tackle the recirc damper flap….anyone have any pointers on how to fix that one!? It’s on the list of needs…🙄😂
