    Busted transmission hose

Yes, that's the part. I've since taken it out and put in 2 brass couplings and transmission hose to replace that steel piece and everything has been working just fine for me. As these vehicles increase in age, they will inevitably rust away. So you might want to start driving around with various...

    Busted transmission hose

lmfao I sure did. Drove it for a hundred miles since then and haven't had an issue. Makes me wonder why they'd put that steel tube piece in the first place. A home run with A/T rated rubber hose would have been more reliable in my opinion, as the pieces that were steel have rusted through on the...

lmao thanks dickbag. I'm humbled that you spent so much of your precious time to come up with a neat little collage of my own quotes.

    Rear axle breather clogged?

Roger that, makes sense. I recently drove it on the beach for a while, and a few days later noticed the leaky rear axle breather vent, and a pin hole leak in the transmission line. Must have built up some pressure everywhere!

    Rear axle breather clogged?

Noticed that the top of the rear axle appears greasy. Upon closer inspection, I noticed there is what appears to be a breather tube - a rubber hose with a clamp on it, which goes for about a foot and has a nipple at the end. The grease seems to have spewed out of the port where the hose sits on...

    Busted transmission hose

I noticed a slight drip of something under the car. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the steel tubes that run the tranny fluid for a short distance right before it goes into the tranny intercooler are leaking. I took the rubber hoses that clam onto the two tubes, and there was an obvious...

    Unknown unplugged connector

It was all dry and had been dry for a while, so I don't blame water for this. The microswitch for the hood latch sounds more plausible, although it's not like anything or anyone tried to open it while it was sitting still at night. I'll unplug it. I guess it was unplugged for years for a reason...

    Unknown unplugged connector

The steel tubing that runs transmission fluid to the tranny cooler popped a leak the other day. I took the front grill off to fix that, and noticed a 2 wire connector that was dangling loose behind the top of the tranny cooler, so I plugged it in. Later at night, at about 5 am my car alarm...

    Lex Do It! OG's '98 LX 470

Jeez man... for a car with 94,000 miles, it sure does have a lot of problems.. you sure the mileage is right? Certainly seems unrealistically low for a 22 year old car.

    Engine running rough

I wonder what the OP sounds like in person. How would the endless “...” and no real punctuation sound in a conversation?

    Engine running rough

Lol a year in mechanics school and an electrician by trade, but you’re scared of an occasional coil misfire so much that you ended up just swapping in a new engine. Lol

"Tesla" screen for 2001 LX470 Mark Levinson w/ Nav

Looks like one of those hideously bright screens that light up the driver's face at night and blind him.... Is there a "night mode"?
