I have a 2001 Golf that is in excellent mechanical shape. Body is a little "used" and has some dings but no rust.
I bought it as a donor for a Smyth Kit Car (LINK), but have changed my mind.
I spent the last winter going through and doing all the maintenance items it needs, and was surprised when a dash light came on in the spring... until I realized it was the fuel light. I drove it locally all winter (a lot) without filling up. Gets 700+ miles per 13 gallon tank.
I installed VR6 springs, rear sway bar, and bilstien shocks. It has lots of torque, is fun to drive, and handles great.
I find that I am not using this vehicle.
Guess I am a landcruiser guy at heart, and looking for interesting trades.
I paid just over $5k for this, and have put over $1k into it. Good tires, would take it anywhere.
