I am selling my 1993 Toyota Landcruiser 80-Series that was professionally converted to a 3.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel 4BTA Engine by Proffitt Cruisers of Colorado. The diesel conversion was performed when the Landcruiser had 263,000. There are now roughly 325,000 miles on this rig, so it has been diesel for 60,000 miles. It has been a great daily driver and cross-country family rig averaging 20mpg and easily maintaining 70mph on the highway at 2200 rpms.

As to the condition of this Landcruiser, it is much better than the 325,xxx miles on the odometer would suggest. Though there are minor dings and dents, there is no rust on the body or the frame and the paint is in decent shape. The power seats and windows work and the leather interior is in good shape (only the driver side is wearing noticeably). The carpet is stained in spots, but is not worn through anywhere. The A/C blows cold and the front end is tight. You could drive this rig to the far corners of the earth!

Conversion Data:

3.9L Cummins Diesel 4BTA Engine (with an estimated 160,000 miles currently)
Rebuilt Heavy Duty 700/R4 Transmission (was rebuilt at time of conversion about 60,000 miles ago)

Extras Include:

4" Old Man Emu lift
ARB Bull Bar with winch mount points
Kaymar Rear Bumper with Spare Tire Carrier
Safari Expedition Roof Rack.

The known issues with this cruiser are:

The Oil Gauge does not show proper pressure and will need to be repaired (there is no oil pressure problem)
The Power Antenna is broken off
The CD Player does not work
The hood does not close flush (a larger radiator was recently installed and during the insertion, the hood latch was raised about 1/2") - It does lock in place and could be fixed by moving the latch back down (see pictures)
The passenger side mirror needs to be replaced as the part behind the mirror that holds it in place is broken
The Cruise Control was disconnected during conversion to diesel

Importantly, despite these small issues, the truck is totally functional. Miles will increase as auction progresses as this is my daily driver.

Hi Acrteryx,

the gentleman who did the conversion provided his own sourced engine to Proffitt. They were uncertain where the engine was from, but guessed that it was from a stepside van (bread van). I don't believe that it was remanufactured.

Could you post a few more YouTube videos?
One of a coldstart of the exhaust.
One of the exhaust while revving the engine.
One with the oil filler cap removed while holding a white paper towel over the oil access, while the engine is running.

I know the birfs are in need of service. Any oil leaks on the axles or anywhere else?
