The '72 is parts but the '69 has the uber rare signals in what looks to be in good shape. Someone will want those!

I talked to him and considered going to take a look but he doesn't want to budge on the price. I'm also waiting on some more pictures of it. I may just try to go take a look today. I'll report back on it if I do.

55's

I live basically less than hour from both of these and I've mulled over both of them but I haven't seen them up close. IF I were to acquire them would anybody be interested in some left over parts if I made one out of the two? It looks like the rims on the 72 are the later model 40 style that I currently run on my 40. Since I'm in the middle of getting my 73 Pig up and running I'm hesitant about rounding up some more but..........that hasn't stopped me in the past. Just a thought.

Likely a bunch of us...but enough to justify the costs? Maybe if you can get them a good bit less expensive.

I was thinking the same, but fortunately I don't live anywhere even remotely near.

Yeah, I feel they are both overpriced but I haven't REALLY made a run at either one of them. I've asked for some more pics of the 69 especially the interior and the fact that it has sat with busted out windows for months and we have had a lot of rain in the past few months in GA.

I'd sure like the aprons and apron marker lights off the '69, and the grill lights as well. and that hood. and the tailgate. and doors. Maybe some other stuff too.

no offense to the early cruiser guys, but i would not want to see the 69 get parted if it's a runner like the guy says. i'd rather see glass put in it, maybe seats if the weather has really f'd it up (why the f!!! isn't there a tarp on it now) and tinkered with enough to get it running like it should

Since I have only owned a 73 FJ55 let me ask this. What are some differences in the 69 or so models? I know it's hard to say with the limited information we have but what are some ballpark ideas on what you'd pay for this one?

The early '55's ('68 & '69) have different signal and bib lights than the later trucks. They changed in the first year or so of production making the early parts quite rare and consequently tough to find. The value on the '69?? It really depends a great deal on condition and we do not have enough information on that. We got our '76 for free, that's a low price and it needed lots of work, someone else has paid in excess of $10,000 for pigs of the same year, probably a high price unless it is in pristine condition.

Ige, I'm not suggesting parting the '69. I too think it is too complete to part it unless it is in very rough shape which it doesn't appear to be.

I hope to have a look at it in the next couple of days. I'll try to take my camera along and snap a couple of pics if I do. I don't NEEEEEEEED another one but you all know how that goes!

Man, it's killling me that it's only 60 miles from me. I keep thinking that I can get down there to at least take pictures for folks. It just seems like it's in "good enough" shape to do something with it.

mtrdud, do you think you can get there? Where do you live? If you think you can make it, I am not going to worry about it. If not, I might try to make the trip. I just don't know if an hour long drive when I am due to pop out this kid any moment now.

the 69 looks very fixable...the 72?? prices do seem a bit high for nonrunners but again the 69 looks fairly rust free from the pix and it also appears complete; a good basic platform to start with; they are begging for a new piggy home..........:D
