I'm thinking that an early 45 LWB license bracket could be made easily from a 40 series barn door license bracket donor. a piece of round stock tubing with the ends pressed, drilled and bent.....................done:meh:

No pictures but I may have one of these. Last summer when I picked up a bunch of stuff in Safford there was this license bracket that I couldn't figure what is was off of. Thought maybe a domestic truck. This bracket was like brand new and had the support strap. The guy has Alzheimer's and couldn't remember wher he could all this stuff. It will be a couple of weeks until I head up north where it's at. Funnny because it in a box in the back of the 45. If it does turn out to be one I ill be willing to send it up north. Not sure how close it came be reproduced. Besides being heavy it is also stamped with a design.

I'm sure a barn door license plate bracket from a early FJ40 would work but when I seen the one I have which could or could be a 45 pickup plate I dismissed it as not cruiser related because it wasn't close to any FJ40 license plate bracket. The guy I got it from had all stuff his brother had left when he gave up his Toyota dealership in the mid sixties. I guess the big three dealerships went to the local banks and told them if they give loans for Toyotas they would sent there business elsewhere. The bother gave up and moved to CA leaving what he had with his brother. Everything else I got from the guy was for a Toyota. Not really that much stuff but I did get a couple of perfect sets of dune beige bumperettes and large rear steps. Maybe his brother sold a 45 pickup and installed a aftermarket bumper. This one looks like it was never used. Your blown up picture is what made me think it may be from a 45. The guy had a supplement FJ45LP-B parts book so his brother may have sold one:meh: Also the support bracket is not a tube with the ends pressed flat but a piece of metal with a stamped rib.

Does anyone know if the FJ45LP-Bs imported here had bumperettes? I can understand why no license plat brackets survived on along bed but a bumper of any kind was optional on any truck in the US. I remember stripped down pickup truks being sold into the late eighties.:hhmm:

I was wrong Sean the main plate is the same as the 61 to early 74 bracket that came on the FJ40. The top part has a bracket spot welded on just like the FJ40. But both appear to have two hole that would allow either backet to be bolted on. I guess to save money they just spot welded instead of using a couple of bolts. The really strange part is I have a second main plate that doesn't have any extra brackets spot welded on or any sign that any were removed.
