Adam, Jay, Andrew, some Jeeps and I went for a chew Sunday. I rode along with Jay and distracted him as much as possible. We hit "The Wall", Tugwell and "Canopener" as well as some little side areas.

Great day, lots of fun and only a few scratches and bumps. Few trucks had been in that area recently so the bush was thick. The Soft tops on the 40's took a beating but breakages were minimal.

Some pics for y'all.

Adams truck worked GREAT for a first run, a testament to his build skills and choice of parts. He aired the bias plys to single digits and easily made it up and down can-opener with very little drama. He almost ran the camera man over (me) but that was because I was in the way.... twice. The bump stops we finished up at midnight the night before the run kept the Billies happy and his truck really floated over the biggest bumps.

Andrew's 80 was its usual reliable self. He made short work of Can-opener, except when I spotted him a tough line and the Dura tracs slipped off a rock catching the 3 inches of vulnerable fender flare between the tire and the slider. Doh. Once a better line was found he hopped right up with some slider pivoting.

Awesome time out with everyone yesterday! BTW I have a new name for the Duratracs... Durashits.

At least they survived this outing, at one point they were so folded over themselves I was sure we'd be changing a tire right in the guts of Can-opener..... but they held.

Jay and I were chatting away about this and that. I was going on about how Ken and his 60 hit a small tree while avoiding a sink hole, the tree bounced him back 5 feet into the edge of the sinkhole. He cleaned his shorts and carried on. Jay and I hit the same tree, a bit faster. Instead if going back we went up. Seeing Jay hanging from his seatbelt above me was a sight. Once we stopped laughing we shut off the motor.... which was running flawlessly, and climbed out. a few min later we were on our way. Very little damage.

It was great to get out for a run.
