ok, look, the icons are nicely built trucks, but come on! that is not a Land Cruiser! V8? Atlas transfer box? Dynatrack Diffs? link suspension?
A tiny sticker and the aluminum (also not original) body which has the classic shapes are the only things remotely close to a Land Cruiser. Really nice trucks, but they should just stick to calling them Icon and leave it at that. I wonder how many of those $150,000 trucks get abused on the trails?

Not one is abused on the trail. I would bet money on it. :hhmm:

There neat for sure, but it does not have the cruiser aspects that I am after. The vortec is stupid. Put a 1hd-ft with a water to air intercooler in there with an H55f with a low range transfer case. That would be cruiser porn....

Certainly looks like a Land Cruiser to me. I'd happily drive it around including trails. Given the choice of a Toyota V8 engine or Chevy Vortec... Vortec all the way. I'll bet this truck is easily getting 20 mpg on the highway and 450 horses to boot. There will always be purists out there as well as hot rodders, doesn't make the vehicle any less desirable. I have both, a stock 60 series that would probably be more fun to drive with a 400hp motor under the hood, but chose to keep it stock. I have a 40 series with a 300hp SBC, Ranger OD, SM420, Warden T-case. I can light up the tires (even 38's) and still have a crawl ratio of 80:1 on the trail. I don't feel my 40 is any less a Land Cruiser than the 60... and I'm not a diesel fan. Would I ever drop a diesel motor in one of these trucks... maybe, especially if I could find something 250hp and up.

I still think this icon is more cruiser than anything else Toyota offers us here in NA. I think there would be little to no market for this thing if we were able to buy a brand new 70 series off the show room floor. Just saying:meh: And for all those gas haters, there is a diesel option for the icon, you can pretty much pick what you want when you get one of those things built up.
Cheers,
Deny

450 hp -- well add one of these for an expedition in BC

If Rod Millen was selling this, I would want this for Christmas. Or at least the body, so I can put it on my 81 frame with the new twin turbo V8 diesel in the 70 series.

For that kind of cash i could build a truck just as capable and have enough left over for a Cobra kit car.
Overpriced at half the price!
