I wanted to post this here ( even though it is in the trails section)

We left for Alaska last Monday and will be gone for at least ten weeks - driving in the 80 and following the coast of Northern CA, Or, Wash, BC then to Alaska for a few weeks including Mark Whatley's ACT06 trek. Then down through BC and into Glacier Nat Park - WY and Idaho if time permits

So far we have made it nearly to the top of Oregon - I finally got to
publish my trip blog

and Kristina's blog - http://web.mac.com/kristinahall/iWe...orth.to.Alaska.Blog/North.to.Alaska.Blog.html

We will post updates as long as we can find service along the route ;)

Now THAT's what an 80 is for. I'm envious.

a quick update ( reposted this morning from Xportal)

We are hanging out in Anchorage today. I dropped off the 80 at Nye Toyota for service - I had a long laundry list of maintenance that I don't need to be doing on the road. The Toyota place is well organized and the service person I spoke with on the phone new Mark Whatley and the Cruiser trek ( he can't make it this year) he owns a lifted 80 with 39" tires and a 62 - what we found is AK is big in land and yet small in who know who.

As a matter of fact we had a fine welcome through the Valdez Police Dept. I was pulled over early yesterday morning while driving around town. The officer asked me if I was drinking, which I replied, " not at all, accept for this chai", he then asked if we new Greg Hayden, we said yes he is going on the ACT06 trek, the officer took my DL and went back to his Police SUV - within two minutes a second Police SUV surrounded us, the first officer left with his SUV and the second officer approached us, I immediately knew what was happening and reached out my hand for a shake and said, Is this how you welcome all your new visitors - we both laughed and then spend the next hour talking landcruisers, bears, his shrimp pots and Alaska. We love this place!

I assume it was Greg in the 2nd SUV?

I think it is due to the pictures. Everything looks great but once the pictures load the text shifts making it impossible to read. It is only your last post June 27, it even seems like it could be the red box surrounding the first picture.
