I own two 92' cruisers both with 3fes. Bought one for parts because the kid that owned it ran it out of oil and "blew the motor."
After I got it home I debated about whether or not to try and rebuild the engine for a back up but got some good advice on the forum that turned my mind. The engine was seized when I bought it, but I was amazed to find that it ran (albeit roughly) after I pulled 3 pushrods out of the oil pan.
It wasn't until a couple of days ago that I realized the extent of the damage there is a hole in the block about 2"x6" yet the thing continued to run, and likely would have pulled its own weight as long as there were fluids in it.
I am so pleased with our 80 series that I just can't see myself without one, and I know now why this forum is full of people who appreciate their rig as much as I do.
Thank you Mr. T!
Also, the remains of the parts vehicle are up for grabs for about 24 more hours if anyone needs parts. Then she goes to the scrap heap. It'll be a sad day.
