Got to start on my 4x4 labs single swingout bumper kit today. Overall it is a nice kit for the $. It fit together well with only minor tweaking and grinding

It is def. a lot of work even though its a kit. Just prepping the frame/demo is a job in itself. Having a second set of hands would have been helpful a few times. Taking the bumper off to finish weld might be a bitch to do solo.

I also discoverd my frame is bent to the pass side about
3/8"-1/2" . Must be from wheeling with a oem trailer hitch before. The bumper fit on nice so I knew the rails where parallel. I plan on going to the frame shop after I am all done for a quick pull on that. The driver side quarter protection is a bit close for my liking.

I took my time on the flares and scribed around the round tubing and cut out everything in the way. I bought the flareless version which has longer wings. Just in case someday I go flareless then the wings are not short.

Here are the pics from then end of the day today. Tomorrow I should get it finish welded, grind, and spray black.

The tire carrier is not in the correct position in pic. Just put it there out of the way. Still need to grind sleeves down so it will fit in correct position.

:clap::clap: Nice Job..

Nicely done!

Thanks! It's been a fast but long project.

Well I fiinished the bumper up todaytonight. I will install it tomorrow. That was a s*** load of welding. burned through 4@ 2lb. rolls.

So it took me a total of 24 hrs. 2@ 12 hr days. From out of the box to finish paint. A little longer than I thought. I took my time and was picky. Getting the flareless wings to work with the flares took some time.

I am happy with the paint. The same paint I use for everything. SEM Rust Shield black. Mixed with Fast dry urethane grade reducer. Dry's like a rock.

Got it finished up today. Added on another 6 hrs. I messed up the high lift mount first time around. I had the bumper on the stands when I did it...oops. So I cut through some fresh paint and changed the location of the mount. Repainted. Rehung rear exhaust. I had to cut off the oem resonator. Sounds beefier. Also painted a friends Heep wrangler top this morning.

I am very happy with how it turned out. It was a fun project. It is a great looking bumper. All kinds of clearance in the rear now. Glads the project is in the past now. Hard work always pays off!!

Can't wait to go break it in next weekend. Tone down the gloss on the paint...

I want to do a single swingout just like yours. Is it a kit from 4x4 Labs or did you fab it up? I don't see any option for single swingout on there website.

They offer a single swing. But there is no instructions on how to set it up. I just did what came to mind. Still working great
