I went with koyo.. It's been in normal temps for 2 NC summers now...
I paid almost 3 bills I think...

I like the idea of a metal tank rad, even tho i have not had troubles with the plastic tank myself you occasionally here of a tank failing or someone inadverdantley breaking one of the hose nipples. and Michael, where do you buy the CSF's?

Cheers P

Just put in a CSF last week - looks very good to me, and dropped right in. Paid about $320 shipped from a vendor on Amazon. Lots of threads on this.

Dropped in the CSF last month. No problems to report, solid temps. Since the plastic tank is what cracked on mine, I went metal. If you are really worried and have the luxury to, save and go OEM. My OEM radiator lasted 18yrs and 160k miles. Based on that alone I would have gotten another if I had the funds.

Overall I am happy with the CSF. It is encouraging to see others who made the same choice and have had no trouble since.

Put a CSF all metal in my 60 and it has been outstanding. For the 80 I went with copper core early model FZJ Toyota radiator. I ended up paying my dealer $425 for the rad which I was fine with given the life of the original one.

I got the good deal by talking to my local parts guys - who I buy alot of stuff from - and asking for some special consideration on this purchase. I already get 20% off retail but they gave it to me at wholesale.

I went with a koyo, its keeping my original hg that has 270k on it happy. And I didn't pay over 200 even with shipping:cool:

Ive been continuing to read all the 'Rad' threads and it sounds like any rad, wether OEM, Koyo or CSF can fail prematurely the consensus is the Koyo has had few early failures. I agree the OEM last a long time and I am only considering replacing mine as part of a HG replacement, the existing rad has kept temps at 193 as per scan gauge but at some point it has to be advisable to replace as there are 350,000 k on it (210,000m) i m still interested in the CSF just cause of the metal tank but am working on keeping an open mind

Where did you buy your radiator from? Do you have a pn#?

Radiator barn has the all metal rad on at $175, and other rad sellers have the CSF at $320, are these the same rad? I understood Rad barn sold CSF but it is hard to determine from there web site?
