As if I dont have enough projects running

Cable Upgrade

OBA Build

Dual Battery Voltmeter from OZ

The new project started when I was doing my Amsoil Synthetic switch. Alxes were no problem. In the process of doing the transfer case, I broke a couple of the skid plate bolts.

So I opted to replace the whole thing with Chad's Cross member and skidplate setup. My :princess: got it for my birthday. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/307322-redneck-enginuitive-belly-pan-finished.html

I am very impressed with the quality of the skidplate. Heavy Duty

It was a pleasure to work with Aaron to add a customized mount for my Amsoil Bypass/Remote filter mount BMK-23. http://www.amsoil.com/bypassfilters/instructions/BP252.pdf

Thanks to 80t0ylc for sharing his install pictures for inspiration

I received everything and now I have to make the time to install it all.

Stu.... that looks great. Give us a heads up when your in the RDU area.
I would have never guessed there is that much height available below the floor to fit that bracket! Looks tall.

How much will you increase your fluid capacity? you musta known these things didnt hold enough right? ;)
now you just gotta get a pic of the guys face when you take it to JiffyLube with a 19.99 coupon

Jason,

Yeah, there is room but its a close. Aaron did an excellent job mocking it up on his cruiser. Original design was to have it right above the cross member but there wasnt enough room. The kick back allow us to have it high and secured.

I should gain about 2 quarts, maybe a little more.

That would be hilarious.... 10qrts for 19.99

Tear down

1st I supported the Tcase then removed the factory crossmember... The old Tcase mount was done.

I then mounted the new tcase mount and test fitted the new skidplate and filter.

Fianl Install

After drilling the holes for the Filter mount, I installed the skidplate. I have to say that having a second pair of hands (my brother) made it very easy to get this job done.

This thing will definately pretect my trans and Tcase from almost anything..

Thanks Chad & Aaron for a quality product.

A very cool project Otamiway.

A couple of questions,

First, how much extra volume will the system have when everything is fully operational?

Second, are you worried exposed oil line, either getting snagged by something on the road or trail or perhaps causing the oil temp to drop (not that it is likely to be significant)? I may be off base with this one, but it is out of my knowledge base.

Thanks Pete,

I am thinking about 2 more quarts in the system due to the 2 large filters (Standard & a Bypass filter) and lines https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/468709-amsoil-2.html #33

The last picture shows the mount sitting about 1- 1/2" from the body. I will run the Oil Lines with the metal lines pictured using the factory clamps to hold them in place.

Check out the Amsoil oil link. Once the Dual Filter mount is attached, I actually needed 2, 45 degree, fittings to bring the Oil Line away from the body.

Stu
