As part of my Dual Battery setup, I needed to figure out where to put my ARB Compressor. It was originally mounted exactly where the 2nd battery box needs to go. Another complication was that I have the TRD Supercharger.
So, I pulled the compressor and started looking for viable locations. I settled on the space between the Cruise Control and firewall on the PS side of the truck. There is enough space there, and several good mounting points to the Air-Cleaner mount, Cruise Mount, and the Diagnostic Port mount. Rock solid.
I mocked up a bracket in thin sheetmetal, and had a friend who had a fabrication shop cut and bend a bracket out of 1/8" steel. Then did the final shaping and fitment on my rig. Rattle-can sprayed.
For those concerned about having the air-intake right above the exhaust, I added a 1/4" NPT to two-feet of 5/8" line, relocating the actual intake far forward and much closer to the air-flow.
The most time consuming part was actually the wiring extension and air line relocation. All in all, a good step forward in the whole Dual Battery project. Up next, 91-92 Water Bottles, Relay box relocation, and LandTank Carbon Canister bracket.
