Location
Stuck between a rock and a hard place
As part of my Dual Battery setup, I needed to figure out where to put my ARB Compressor. It was originally mounted exactly where the 2nd battery box needs to go. Another complication was that I have the TRD Supercharger.

So, I pulled the compressor and started looking for viable locations. I settled on the space between the Cruise Control and firewall on the PS side of the truck. There is enough space there, and several good mounting points to the Air-Cleaner mount, Cruise Mount, and the Diagnostic Port mount. Rock solid.

I mocked up a bracket in thin sheetmetal, and had a friend who had a fabrication shop cut and bend a bracket out of 1/8" steel. Then did the final shaping and fitment on my rig. Rattle-can sprayed.

For those concerned about having the air-intake right above the exhaust, I added a 1/4" NPT to two-feet of 5/8" line, relocating the actual intake far forward and much closer to the air-flow.

The most time consuming part was actually the wiring extension and air line relocation. All in all, a good step forward in the whole Dual Battery project. Up next, 91-92 Water Bottles, Relay box relocation, and LandTank Carbon Canister bracket.

So have you done the other relocation's yet? Interested in seeing the rest.

Isn't that were the washer fluid bottle will need to go (washer bottle relocation kit), if you use a '91 battery box for your 2nd battery?

Or are you doing something diferen?

Happy to say, yes. All of my engine-compartment relocations are done. Compressor behind the air-cleaner, 91-92 water bottles on the DS, Landtank CC relocation, second battery setup installed, and household circuits run to the rear. Shedload of work, but exceptionally happy with the results.

Will need to pull the ARB compressor after New Years to install the Safari Snorkel, but not much else to do in the engine compartment.

That is the first time I seen all that moved, heard about it but never seen it.

From what I can see... I dont think you will have to move the compressor for a snorkle.

It all looks like it will fit just fine.

Nice job, I need to find out more about the Canister relocation and 92 water bottle mod.

I like it more and thats a lot of space for a compressor.

Just need to temporarily move the compressor to jamb my arm up into the fender to tighten several nuts...easy to pull the compressor, but a real PITA with getting the final Snorkel nuts installed (based on others' experience).

Here is LandTank's original post on using his bracket (now available from AJIK Overland). The conversion is not cheap with all of the bits and pieces needed, but essentially the only option I had with all the goodies under the bonnet.
