After seeing a couple other members with level lifts I decided to give it a shot. I started with an OME 861/862 setup but I couldn't handle the stinkbug look. After some contemplation I ordered a pair of Ironman TOY024B front 2" lift springs from Camel 4x4 to try to level it out. I may have slightly overshot level, but I am very pleased overall. The ride is much smoother than with the OME 861's and with a trim packer in the rear I will be nice and level. For reference all of the pics have the same rear cargo (full recovery gear, overnight gear, one 3rd row seat, and a 33" spare) as well as full fuel. My caster is now in the negative numbers, but not sure where as my alignment rack doesn't want to read negative. I plan on fixing this with Landtank's plates as I do plan to go with a FOR lift next year. For now this lift with the 285's is great.

Hub to Flare Measurements:
861/862 = 20 3/4" front and 21.5/21 rear
Ironman TOY024B = 22 1/4 and 22 front

First pic is with 861/862

Those chrome door handles really stick out:eek:
Lift looks good.

In a weird way, it looks good though with the chrome handles .... at first I was like, LAME, but then afte 20 seconds, was all "hmmm" .... the contrast is kinda nice.

It looks like you've hit a home run in your goal to level it out. With the smooth, level ride, why do you plan to ditch it soon for another lift? Can't resist leaving my opinion on the asthetics: I love black Toyotas, but think your 80 would look much better with stock or chrome rims.

To be honest I miss the factory silver wheels, but I painted them because they were in pretty rough shape and wouldn't clean up. The chrome mirrors and handles grew on me too, I have the front end blacked out as well and the chrome really pops, but not in a bad way. I may stick with this setup for a while, I am quite pleased with the ride overall and can put some money towards a bumper and sliders. I just hope the extra weight doesn't bring it down too much. My front 861's are in the classifieds if anyone is interested!
