I am ready to tear into the rear housing of the transfer case to change the Oil seal that has failed. This past Sat. morning I realized once again how much I have grown to hate working on cars when I replaced my alternator on my 93(easy job, but then again nothing is ever easy)
. And now this, a damn 5 dollar oil seal is going to make me tear into the transfer case (ok, I'll stop whinning now!). I go through my little phases where I don't want to wrench at all on anything, and then go threw times where I spend all my free time tearing and assembling just about everything in sight in these damn cars.
Well. whatever. I just have a simple question, I needed the part # for the Ball Bearing that goes into the rear housing. I got the part # for the oil seal from a thread I searched. I figure, I might as well replace the bearing or at least be ready to replace the bearing when I tear into the transfer case as this might be the reason why the seal failed. I don't want to have to dissassemble the the rear housing again once I have butted everything up, knowing that I could have fixed the problem the first time. Thanks.
