My first "stuck" was a doozy! I was alone and had to walk out. Per my search, the lens is removable by baking in the oven, but who wants a quart of muddy water in their oven?

Edited for update: Headlight flushed out through the bulb hole just fine. Carpets were removed and pressure washed then dried with shop vac, followed by about a week of "Damp Rid" buckets. Electrical connections were blown out with co2 and coated with dielectric grease. The only electrical gremlin at the moment is the airbag dash light is on.

Remove the bulbs and dump out the mud. I'd probably just rinse it out and be done.

swimming with fish? lol. Gotta here the story behind that :D

I was scouting a ride for the club and was on my way back after chickening out at the next water crossing, but I didn't make it through that patch on the return trip. The guy that winched me out drove an hour and a half to get to me. That one will be tough to pay back! The LC started right up after getting out and drove it home.

Back to tech: The driver side was submerged to the bottom of the armrest with water over the console for about four hours. Thoughts on what to do next (after pulling the carpets)?

:eek: wow, thanks for the "what happened"

Know clue other than what you said to air that out and at least leave carpet elevated to dry.

Strip the interior and pull out all the junction blocks and wiring harnesses and dry them out.

There are multiple elctrical gremlins in your future.

Amen!!!

Lots of WD40 and compressed air on those electrical connections!!!

We had another 80 go U-Boat on us a while back. Who was it and any updates on his situation/long-term issues? I'd search for his thread and PM him for any updates.

WOW....That's horrible dude...Hope you can get everything dried out and fixed. ih8water

X2

Not a good thing. The corrosion in your connections will haunt you later. Do your best now to reduce the future brain damage.

Glad you made it out and had a friend to help you.

Thanks for the tip, CDan -- I was hoping you would know the proper incantation to chant in order to repel the gremlins (similar to the "gremlin bells" hanging off of many Harleys -- google it, I'm not kidding!). Seriously, though, would it be proper to seal the connections with dielectric grease after drying out while they are accessible? It just seems like the right thing to do, as the dielectric grease would eliminate the possibility of O2 creating corrosion. Anyone done that?
