I did this a few weeks ago! As if the rockers, flares, bumpers, wheel-wells, and the roof was not enough. I am working on a drawer system design also. The walls were all scratched up, the sub is gone, and the ashtray is worthless, so why not? I insulated, and siliconed all the area behind the walls, had a window leak anyways. I also bought some factory 80 series handles from Spector Off-road, and added that touch. :flipoff2:

And I finally mounted my jack. It was laying in the back forever!

Did you run out??? That hi-lift mount needs to be covered! not nearly enough traction for the jack :flipoff2:

Looks good, I like the interior panels

How did you apply the coatings? Roll or spray....?

Wow, I thought this was an intervention by the title

Looks great!

How much product was needed to do just the exterior body panels? I have been wanting to do this but havent decided on which product to use. Have been lookin at using durabek but may consider herculiner if it has pro's of doing so:hhmm:

I would not mount the hi-lift there. It's begging to be ripped off.

I do like the idea of the grab handles on the D pillars though. I might have to steal that idea....

am I the only one that cant see the pics?

nevermind, forgot im at the in-laws with their slow as hell connection

I like the Hi lift jack there, but did think about it being ripped off. I guess I'll have to take my chances, but there aren't much rocks in our area. haha

I bought the herculiner from Pep-girls. It is $30 for 1/3 gallon I believe it is? One gallon is $100, but includes the kit. Screw the kit. I buy a couple cheap paint brushes and brush it on like paint. It is much thicker than anything else you can buy, but you can adjust thickness easily by adding Xylol. Search ebay, it is cheap on there. It comes black by the way.

The interior walls have about 4 coats of herculiner! 2 coats of primer before and 3 coats of rustoleum gray paint after. hahaha.... I just realized how much crap is on those walls!

The whole exterior minus the bumpers is probably 1 gallon or so. That is because I put it on so thick. Probably 3-4 coats depending. I did the flares first, and then decided to do the rockers, so the flares have more herculiner on them.

What I do, is I buy some industrial Rustoleum, in whatever color I want, and finish the herculiner with it. The herculiner acts like a primer, so the rustoleum does not come off. Makes it pretty and shiney, and is very durable!

Thanks for the good comments!

X2 on the grab handles. I usually have to lightly pull on my gas struts to get in the back usually.

When you say ripped off, I assume you mean by a rock and not a meth addict.

Like it. A buddy did his rig exterior completely in Rhinoliner about 5 or 6 years ago. Still looks great, still draws admiring stares. This is an idea whose time has come...

like it alot have you thought about doing the dash board. my dash board has 2 1/8" cracks that i could probabbly fill with the herculiner thanks for the idea;)

I usually grab both sides of the 3rd row seatbelt. Doesn't work so well when I only grab one, and grab the wrong side by mistake...

Where I live, either one would be likely.

(But I live in "Methford".)

As soon as I mounted the jack, I went to Home Depot and bought a masterlock for it. :D

2 words. Bolt cutters.

Someone stole my hitch pin. Off my front control arm.

(I changed to a different locking hitch pin where you'd need a cut off wheel to get it, and it'd be useless afterwards.)

so you even applied the Herc with paint brushes to the exterior? Did you then spray bomb or brush on the Rustoleum to the exterior? Any more exterior pics or knowledge to share? Thanks!
