Cummins 6cyl converted 80 series

No idea, but I doubt it. He lives about 3 hours drive north of me. I have family up there and we plan to visit Edmonton soon. I might just have to swing by...

wow.. There are more versions of the intake available.. I'd have swaped out the one that said dodge on it for one that just had cummins on it... I have owned a dodge and wont contaminate my toyota. The cummins engine is about the best thing dodge put in a truck but not their design thankfully..

Now a modern CDI mercedes diesel engine would retain the badges..!

I would think it could easily get 22-24 mpg on the hwy . I f you will notice it is one of the earliest models put in a dodge truck . Change injectors, add a intercooler and smaller turbo housing fuel mileage and power will really come around :D
 
You would be better off putting a 4BTA into an 80 than the 6BT. It weighs a few hundred pounds less, and with minor work could make decent horsepower, get over 400lb ft of torque, and pull mid twenties in fuel efficiency.

I don't think so, it weighs too much. The engine alone is 1,400lbs. (the 4 is 1,100 IIRC)

They say that the Rams get 20 but thats after a lift and tire :rolleyes: and what do you want to bet its not "corrected"?...

Gee, you know Cummins made more motors than the 6BT and 4BT don't y'all. :confused:

If you'll look on UTube for the 4BT H1. Look at the lumbering theses motors do I venture to say they are OVER stroked for an application we need....

there's also a 3.3L:rolleyes:

Slap and tickle that, and I'll bet CLOSER to 30.....


But before that, I might go with a 6AT. The $1,500 motor that's similar in size, **weight** and shape to a 292 I6

Rather have a mercedes straight 5 or straight 6 if its not going to be a toyota engine. The newer mercedes engines are relatively light for what they are and put out.
The compound turbo BMW puts in their racing SUV would be major kickass too.
