Everything is looking good. The only #'s that were high turned out to be additives/detergents in the oil. That probably means I could extend my change interval, but more than likely I won't.

Sorry the image is a little small, I was having some trouble resizing.

That is a uber clean report.

Yeah, I sent in that sample a couple of days before taking off on a 1200 mile road trip. That was waiting for me in my email when I got back. 137200 on the clock now and looking good! I was stoked to see that.

Congrats, MaddBaggins!

If only I can be so fortunate. My 1st sample is still sitting on my workbench. I havn't sent it in for fear of a bad result. If I get even a one borderline result, I'll stress on it for eternity. Not sure I need that...

I just requested an oil sample kit from Blackstone...

Will they be able to predict a head gasket failure in the upcoming months ?

Their report will tell you if you have coolant in your oil. A HG can leak internally (see IdahoDoug's posts) or externally (see LX_Treme's posts.)

OK, so you can have a bad external HG failure and their report won't show a thing... correct ?

It can be a "bad" external leak or a "minor" external leak. In both cases, an oil analysis will not show coolant in the oil unless there is also an internal HG leak. One could argue that 'bad HG failure' is redundant.

Just got mine back today.

My head gasket fears have been alleviated...

Once again proving these engines are easy on oil, the Chevron Delo 400 is a great mineral oil, and 40 weight oils are right in this engines sweet spot.
