Well, this was a shot to the face. I've owned the rig for almost a year and it's ran great the entire time. Never heard any noises or had to replenish oil supplies. WELL, I'm leaving my fathers shop last night, and after tunring it over sounds like bowling balls rolling araound my mill. Let the vid tell the story.

I'm looking for a 22r. Anyone have one they are looking to sell????

Did it experience any over revving lately? If an engine is over revved it can stretch the connecting rod bolts, which loosens the nuts and they back off till the cap falls off and the rod goes somewhere where it isn't supposed to be... Sounds like a rod is about to let go to me..... I'd drop the pan and see what's up before you turn it into junk by running it till it dies...

I did have the throttle stick on me a couple of months ago going up a hill, but it was only for a second or two. I readjusted the linkage and it was fine. I've definetyl treated some 22r's worse in the past, but anything is possible. What has me baffled is that it came out of nowhere. Normally our toyotas give us a sign or two.:bang:

I had an engine go like that once, it experienced some high RPM's (not by me...) and drove fine for months still I was on the highway one day and it made it's death song and threw a rod in a matter of a minute or 2....

Pull your pan, there still may be some hope...
