So, I've attached a few pictures of some loose wires I have coming off a few harness. The first is the alternator harness. I looked up the wiring diagram for an '81 and it says that for alternators with the IVR that it goes to the condensor, which I removed when I replaced the old alternator (after I took the picture) and didn't replace. That condenser was bolted on to the back of the alternator though, not on this separate wire.

The second picture is for the head lights and it looks like the exact same color as the ground wire.

Any thoughts to what these are or what I should do? Everything works properly in this truck and it runs like a top. I know the alternator is in a funky place, the PO added a York A/C Compresses where the alt usually bolts and it makes the plugs into the alt plug at a funky angle.

Black/Yellow is a key on power wire from the engine fuse.
White/Black is a ground wire.

The bullet connectors are used for in-line wire connections where the assembly may need to be removed.

What ever they connect to in not obvious in the picture, but it may have been removed. Look on the schematic. It will be in the vicinity of the other devices in the same location.

Nothing on the wiring diagram makes any sense there to me. The only thing it might be were OEM fog lights as I have empty brackets on the front of my frame that might have been for OEM lights...

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that bullet connector by the alternator is for the "radio condensor" to eliminate noise and the one by the light may be for the turn signal housing. The original turn signals had 3 wire and replacement have 2.

By the way, unless the rig came with a factory AM radio kit, your rig would not have the condensor. Mine doesn't and I've tried to find one.

That makes sense.. my only question is why did my alternator have a condenser on it when I removed it if it had an external one? My truck came with a radio of some sort, since removed by the PO. The turn signals do look they've been replaced... hummm

The ground wire probably went to the OEM turn signals. I only see two wires headed there now and believe it originally had a ground if it is like mine.

I have the same random wire at the alternator...
