original air cleaner

is the original air cleaner a good thing to keep on my f 155 it seems as though that the filter does not fit so well and it would let in dirty air?

There is supposed to be a rubber gasket between the airhorn on the carb and the airfilter housing. Mine fit tight. Bigass filter element.

It's actually a SUPERIOR filter. Twin gaskets [top and bottom] on the filter and a third where the a/c and the carb meet. They actually seal better than the 75 and newer.
