Early tire carrier bushings

My 74 FJ40 spare tire carrier bushing aren't available .

I searched and found some info, but nothing defenite..........

Help?

I replaced my 78 bushings with generic brass bushings, just happened to have some on the shelf that worked, check McMaster-Carr for easy sourcing instead.

Tubular carrier bushings are still available from Toyota.....however according to my parts guy (who is usually spot on) the early ones were never made available, just total hinge.....although when taken apart there is two hat shaped bushings in there.

Ditto. Made mine on a lathe out of round brass stock. Bstevens had a McMaster Carr part number for something that was pretty close, IIRC.
