Got round to getting my body mounts installed despite working Saturday.

The whole thing could be done in an hour or less probably I took about two hours with breaks and coffee and goofing with other stuff

To start there are 12 mounts plus two thin pads for the rear wheel arch and a couple mounts used for the running boards which I don't have

Having been a fair few weeks working on prepping and painting the underside of the body while it was up on sawhorses I was glad that the kit came with instructions.

Each piece was labeled with a part number and the mount locations are numbered 1-6 showing only the left side.

2,3,5, and 6 are the same and 1 is a little bigger and 4 is installed with the bolt from the top though the bed.

A short stubby 14mm wrench is a big help on mount 5 and 6 at the rear especially to get to the bolt on the inside rear mount where space is tight.

I set all of the mounts up the way they would be installed and started all the way in the back and them moved to the forward mounts and worked my way back.

The #4 near the wheel arch is the one with the bolt through the bed and was a bit of a tight squeeze I had to back off the rear mounts and pry up with a 2x4 to get them started.

To install just slide in the first piece of rubber between the body and frame and slide the bolt in up to that point. Next, slide in the second piece inside the mount retainer built into the frame then put the nutplate on top and finish sliding the bolt in.

Leave everything hand tight until all the mounts are installed so you have some wiggle room to make things fit.

I skipped using the thin rubber pads for above the wheel arch as my fiber bads there were in good shape

And that's about it, piece of cake I only needed a 14 mm wrench, a short 2x4, and a screw driver to help line up the holes.

Job Done!;)

If that's POR15 on yer hands you'd better wash down w/ some paint thinner quick or that's on you for a week :D I assume those are stockish replacements (?) I would've added some UHMW pucks for a mild lift. That way it's easier getting to the top of the tcase & other tight areas.

What kit is this? I see energy suspension ones on Ebay but it doesn't appear that these are it. Thanks for the write up....

mOUNTS

I've had them around so long, but I know I got them from a mud vendor might have been SOR or CCOT. They are made by energy suspension.

They are stock type I toyed with the idea of a 1 inch body lift but didn't go for it in the end I was afraid of messing with the classic looks too much at first

That was indeed POR15 well spotted! Yes it was approx I week before it came off with liberal scrubbing with a pumice stone.

I have heard accounts of getting it on worse places:lol:
