Are there brackets available to mount aftermarket lights to a stock front bumper on a 100? Like some hella 500s?

Thanks,

uzj100,
Been looking at this for a while (too long) as well. Toyota of Sweden had some brackets but they did not work on the US version.

Driving lights (up to four-five of them even on smaller cars) are very common up in northen Sweden, and many times they are mounted on a brackets that mounts behind the license plate. Stock LC bumper plate holder does not really work (weak screws in plastic), but I assume one could drill the bumber bar (how does that affect its strenght?), put in spacers to prevent the bumper shell from being crushed, and go from there. Should be strong and fairly "anonymous" looking.

Another version is to fabricate a bracket (L-iron?) that mounts between the front frame rails/bumper attachments, and then weld "extenders" that stick out through the grill where the lights are mounted. With top supports like these below (not between the light but that goes back towards the grill), you should have a very sturdy installation.

Have to have my Bosch Profi's put back on. They've been in the garage far too long by now...

I'm gunna pull my bumper, measure the spacing and see how many lights I'm gunna put up. I saw H.I.D lights at autozone, they have ballast, and everything. I'm considering them... But don't want that annoying blue or purple. There target seems to be Honda, hyundia, and other vaccuum cleaners.

My KC are to long from front to back. So I gotta get smaller lights. I'm gunna attemp 4 lights. Maybe 2 large on the inside and 2 small on the outside.

No need to pull bumper. Just pull grill (three screws).

If going my preferred route (bar between front bumpstops/frame rails), that bar needs to be ~35"long, with 32.5" between the mounting holes. The "risers/extenders" need to go up ~10" and extend forward some 7-8" (depending on how deep lights you have).
I'll try to make a drawing and "conceptualize" my ideas. Been having this in my head far too long now. Time to share - and make it happen (since an ARB is likely not in the familiy budget this year, although some very sweet custom built front bumpers have surfaced lately on mud, i.e. Excile, ginericLC, etc), and the headlights are far from acceptable for highway driving. Need those Bosch lights mounted...

Only real drawback is that the lights will probably extend past the front bumper. Hence, have to be careful when pulling up close. Oh wait, that's another argument for going the ARB/custom route (need something sturdy to protect my expensive lights)...

Hmmm, not bad at all, but maybe a tad more work than I have time for right now. "My" solution would essentially be totally hidden (could also make cut-outs in the grill and mount the lights "80ies style"). But the "cross member" (square tube) is almost identical to what I envisioned. Same type of mount on the 100, although there is an AC component in the way, possibly forcing use of a L-iron insted of a tube. Should still be strong enough though.

But, thanks for the suggestion. ANY ideas are welcome. Have a distant neightbor who is a good fabricator (they are making rock crawlers in their rambler garage all the time). Hope I can convince him to do some minor welding for me...

BTW, what are you doing in that beautiful state of CO at the moment?
