I found some sweet HID retrofit kits for 06/07 headlights

by retro fit meaning you have to send them your lights first??? by the way do you know lots of these lights? I seen somewhere that there are bulbs now that are just plug and play for the lx lights? (hid upgrade)

yes exactly. And yes, there are HID PnP kits available from lots of sources, I personally have a xenon depot kit in mine.

but didnt you and jim have to do some trimming? from the other post i think theirs was a bulb replacement? am i wrong on that?

we had to cut a hole in the back cover of the light housing which is easily replaceable, big deal. Yes it is a bulb replacement and thats it, just have to cut the hole to allow the bulb wires to pass.

yes, its not legal. Whatever. As long as your not a dummie and have your headlights properly aimed along with being 4300k color temp you wont have problems, but will be able to see a lot better. If you're an idiot and put 12000k lights in you'll probably get a ticket.
ive been thinking about trying to retrofit projectors into my '99 headlights....has anyone done that before?

I really want to do it but i'm kinda doubtful. I have had a 300c and had the headlights prepped with halo light. They opened up the headlights, painted the inside and fitted the halo rings. After that was done I had nothing but problems with the units. Malfunctioning, leaking, moister on the inside of the lenses.
So in other words do they actually crack them open or is it done from the back. How well do they seal the lights again.
What does a pair of new lights cost in the states anyway. Here in europe its gonna be damm expensive thats for sure.
They don't mention the LC lights on their site... with approx cost.

yeah he has, but he just changed his projectors, we dont have reflector housings on the lowbeams on the LX. Yes, the 06/07 are all one piece instead of the parking light being separate and the way the light is laid out is different also. 06/07 looks way cleaner, and I believe the actual housing is slightly larger, requiring you swap out the grille and trim pieces also.

The headlamps aren't actually ever completely sealed. There are vents on the housing. What happened with yours could have several different causes, the paint or adhesive may have not been compatible or they outgassed. Or the seal around the lenses may not have been completely sealed allowing moisture in. Or they assembled them without it being completely dry (too humid). If you throw some of those moisture absorbent pouches in there where it can't be seen, that might help.
Actually, I don't think the install is much different than mine. Just one added part of removing the existing reflector area and installing an HID projector shroud. There are lots of shrouds out there. Just gotta pick the one that best fits. Someone on the HIDplanet forums could probably indentify that shroud.
How about using one of the for a retrofit. These shoudl fit the 2004 LC 100 right? Who wants to retrofit a pair for me...hehe

i know the retrofitter that did those lights. he does VERY good work.
the projectors shown in the headlights are honda s2000 projectors. they are known the be the best compact single xenon projector.
he uses bmw shrouds to cover it up.
you cannot even compare PNP kits with this retrofit.

Hey Dutchy, where did you find these new type headlights? Have you tried byuing these? If it is a foreign supplier, will they deliver?
You can find them on ebay. Haven't bought them yet.. still thinking about the retrofit. I didnt ask if they sent overseas... if they wont do it.. ive got some friends that can ship em over in an instant. So thats no problem.
