Anyone have any idea what the plastic top and bottom radiator tanks are made of? They look like ABS to me.

An underhood application like a radiator tank would typically be Glass-Filled Nylon 6 or G.F. Nylon 6-6. Can't be ABS due to it's melt temp of 100-110 C. Nylon 6 would have a melt temp of more like 220 C or higher, depending on the grade.

Why - got a leak?

Thanks Buneti

Not a leak, a broken bypass hose nipple. I am tying to figure out the best epoxy to use.

Long ago I fixed an expansion tank with epoxy made for that purpose, they sold it at AutoZone. It was a clay-like stick that had to be squished and worked to mix in the hardener.

I made a permanent fix on mine by:
I found a brass nipple that was a tiny bit larger than the ID of the hole, heated it up and pushed it into the hole and let it cool, then JB welded around the outside of the fix. it has been over 2 years without any leaks..
good luck

Good repair done by Mr. Toad. Radiator on one of mine is all brass, must be aftermarket. Now I'll keep an eye on the "plastic" one.:D

Radiator end tank is PA-66 or glass filled nylon. (Typically 15% glass)
Use an epoxy that will work with a nylon (Amid) polymer.
