Hello all!

Not big on much online posting, but this sight has been invaluable to me for information and ideas on how and what to do regarding my rebuild.

I am restoring/rebuilding a 74 FJ40 (9/73). I purchased it about 3 years ago and finally started tearing it apart after Duck season this year. Has a Chevy 350 mounted to the original 3 Spd tranny. Floorboard gone but the rest of the tub is in good shape. The transmission was rebuilt before i bought it and runs good. Motor started smoking a bit and probably needs to be rebuilt. Instead i am replacing with a suped up 327 that a buddy had "laying around".

So far I have completely torn it down and on the rebuild have so far done the following:

-Blasted, primed, powderd the frame, axles, and misc chassis parts.
-Replaced all bearings in axles and about to put them back together
-Ordered OME suspension and have installed it on the frame
-Have many more body/interior parts getting blasted, and/or primed/powdered.
-Cleaned painted multiple parts as well

Will post some pictures from before and after as i move along.

Again, thanks to IH8MUD and its members for invaluable LandCruiser info!!

Been a long while, but starting to get back at it. Changed up plans a bit.......found a rebuilt 350 and pairing up with a 4speed trans\transfer my brother had laying around. Tub was blasted and primed, now working on parts the blasting couldnt fix. Replaced section of fire wall from a donor. Replaced floorboard. Working on rear sill and other sections. Not a pro so mastering my skills as i go!
