I like quiet when I cruise the urban byways and I've taken notice the road noise coming from the back on wet pavement(1st time I heard it thought there was an open window...)
I know from tearing apart the pig it's only sheet metal and plastica between my prissy ears and the noisy world that lurks as far as the rear QP's go
Anyone ever insulate for noise back there did it work well?
' know what's a dencent buy for this application.I envision self adhereing sheets of foam that shoul not cost an arm or a leg.....I have neither to spare.

Well, I am a coatings specialist by trade and there are several manufacturers who make cheap and thick urethane coatings designed to waterproof pedestrian decks. I was contiplating rolling this stuff onto the interior sides of all the panaling in my wagoneers but never got around to it before I ended up selling them and moving up to the world of the 80.
A much easier fix would be to drive a Jeep Wagoneer for a few years and then step back inside your 80. You'll never complain about road noise again :D

I had Herculiner sprayed on my 60 and it REALLY quites stuff down. You can put your carpet back over it, which would help quiet stff down even more. A do it yourself bedliner kit would do the trick if you put it down thick. Hope this helps your ears!:)
