First camping trip with the 80

Took the Ole Girl up to Western PA for a long weekend. Was able to get 300 miles out of a tank of fuel. Found a waterfall and an old covered bridge while we were there. Also, came across some interesting local history.

Well you sold me when you mentioned heat. Arizona can be a hot one during the summer and under hood temps can be pretty high too.

I have to ask, what are the added benefits of running the diesel oil in a gas motor?

A side benefit is it comes in 4qt jugs instead of 5. Dump two full jugs in and you’re done. It’s also consistently cheaper than other name brand oils.

This week got brake controller installed, rebuilt an alternator with new bearings and brushes, organized and cleared out a bunch of parts. Cleaned up shop. Tested out trailer with brakes. Much better.

Procrastination: 12 years……. Not gonna win a ‘body-work’ MVP with it but I’m not as worried bout my feet punching through the floor now! After I got some paint on this, I realized more filler and sanding might be in order but I’m thinking…...

Up to the Navarro again. CLC Pax 19.5, CLC Yare (first boat I built) 16’, and a Folbot. In rough conditions the Folbot has the best stability. Just kind of rolls with it.

15’ Ed Howe built in the late 1930’s. According to my bathroom scale (which may also have been built in the 1930’s) it weighs 70#.
