Do this is how it looks with it all back together. Doesn’t the new pump look great in there?
Any idea why I hate engine work on it?
I’d rather be working on a 40 series any day of the week.
Found some NOS bolts for door hinges all around. In process of installing. This is one of those important upgrades that will make the truck run better right?
I’d highly recommend Metal-tech cages. Personally I’d assemble it just the way I’d want, tack it, and then have a skilled certified welder finish the welding.
Almost buttoned up. I’ve now installed the 50 bolts and all the parts they hold on (that weren’t already installed in the last pic). Now I’ve just got 15 more screws that hold in the grill, trim, and remaining front lights.
If it was a 40 series...
Used an old diff bearing races, the puller plate, and the balancer mounting bolt to press in the new front main seal.
Cut the sleeve off the harmonic balancer and pressed on a new one with a different bearing race.
New Gates water pump...
Now I can get back to replacing the water pump and the front main oil seal.
Sometimes I hate old trucks... especially when they need to be repaired... and not a Landcruiser. Everything under the hood of an E350 with a 7.3 Diesel.
Ambo had a drip. A few days later I had 3 litres of antifreeze in an ice cream pail. While repositioning the rad and shroud to get access to the water pump…
Time to practice some bodywork skills.
Unfortunately it was sold before I could get any info on it. The more I weigh the pros and cons, the better idea I have of what I'm looking for. Light, narrower than my 40, and built to take some abuse.
An M100, M101, or M416 seem to fit the...
Has anyone ever seen a trailer like this one?
The seller states it’s similar to an M416 and was used at Marine Corp Station El Toro. Supposedly it’s all steel construction and it’s priced to move. It does look a lot heavier than an M101, but...
I completed a Scout II P/S conversion not that long ago. It's a slightly different flavor of the same conversion. I'd highly recommend it over stock, and I far prefer it over traditional Saginaw steering conversions. That said, the only power...
Your floor didn’t look so bad.
My “new” floor waiting to be installed…
My rear tub I built in ‘92 is 1/8” steel. This stainless is a good 1/16” and will have 1/2” plate steel connecting the roll bar to where the body mounts to the frame. Not...
I’m kicking myself for selling the last trailer… even though I know it would have been in the way most of the time for the last 20 years.
I do have a client up near where it is who can probably stop by and make sure it’s legit… but I don’t want...
I hear you on the scam part. Hard to tell what's legit and what's not. I've got a couple old Moto Guzzis I want to sell and dread listing them.
I’ve only seen the Canadian M101 in pictures and it looks like a great trailer. You’ll kick yourself...
Doesn’t seem bad. In ‘05 I was quoted $700 for a basic exhaust on a ‘71 GT6… no stainless steel. I ended up doing it myself… one 90* bend, 6’ of pipe, a 20* bend, a muffler, a turned down end, and a couple exhaust hangers with clamps.
Here’s the worst part.
I wouldn’t want to weld on a truck frame but a trailer is another story. I could easily repair this. The hardest part will be making the welds look original… the patch itself would be easy enough.
Overall it looks good in...
Ah! Thank you for taking the time for that explanation… I am direct to the battery. The rest is set up via relay using the old carb solenoid wire to trigger the relay
