Yah It is probably going to hit before full flex. I don't really have more room for the ram anywhere else, so I am going to probably have to knotch the frame out to get the ram clearance I need.

Here is what she looks like since the last update! It now drives, steerings and is probably about 1 more weekend of time from being 100% complete.
I did not like my front fender panels and could not put my finger on it. I finally figured it out last night and marked the fender for a new cut with some tape. It is also at it's final ride height.

Well, great work, I'm almost jelous!!
Just a question: have you already tried the car? Wich is the behaviour on side slopes?
I have air shocks like yours but on every side slopes I'm very close to rolling over, I just would know if is a problem of mine or the shocks in general...

ok, no one want's to use the calculator, but i have been watching some of these killer builds and i'm curious if you had to put a price tag on all the labor and parts you just put into that build, what would it be?

How much oil and what PSI are you running in your airshocks? It might be that they are not tuned right or that your FJ is too heavy for airshocks. My setup is pretty stiff, but it does have alot of body roll when barrel-assing around the parking lot.
I take the FJ to Windrock this Friday and Saturday. I will let you know.

I have put about $4500 into this conversion. No labor though. I would guess it would be around $3000 in labor to do it again.

Weel, rear shocks are 2.0" and I run them at 350 PSI, front shocks instead are 2.5" usually at 250 PSI. I didn't adjusted the oil level becouse the vendor told me that it was already set, I think it's about 200 cc.
I verified my FJ's weight and it was about 1900 kg (4200 lbs), but consider that the srpung wwight is much lower (I think about 3000 lbs). But I don't think that is a weight problem, this is the shock's behaviour; Maybe your car is lighter and lower so you feel it much less than I do, but if you say that it rolls just turning around the parking means that it doesn't depend from the car but from the shocks...
Anyway, I would appreciate a lot if you will tell me something about shock's behaviour in offroad driving.
Thanks!!
Francesco

Well, I got everything done except installing the passenger seat on Sunday. The seat came today, but I did not have time to get it installed, so my wife helped out and finished it up!
I have it on the trailer, going to take it to the CAT Scales at the local truck stop to get it weighed tonight. I am going to install a grab handle fo the passenger, then it will be 100% done.
I will also get some daylight finished pictures tomorrow. Still need to flex test it one more time and make sure everything is good, then off to Windrock at the end of the week!

You might need to add more oil. Is the suspension soft? Meaning can you rock the rig back and forth? Do you have a swaybar on it?

Yes, suspensions are very soft. Pushing and pulling from side to side the car is moves a lot, from back to forth it moves less (obviously) but in general suspensions are really soft.
I have a couple of Currie Antirock bars but I still have to put them on, hope they will let me work this problem out!
A last question: wich ari shocks you have (2.0"? 2.5"?) and wich is their oil level?
Thanks again, you're very kind!

I have 2.0" shocks. I have 210cc's in the Rear shocks and 225cc's in the front. My suspension is very stiff when pushing side to side. Sounds like you need to add oil and or double check what they have. Alot of ppl that run air shocks on Cherokee's, just fill up to the max capacity (usually near 400cc's).
The sway bars will defianatly help alot, but sounds like you still need to tune the shocks better.

Ok, so seems that my mistake has been to trust vendor's suggestions...
I'll try first to add a little bit of oil (if by now there are 200 cc I can add 50/60 cc, then eventually increase) and see what happens.
Another thing: wich is the best oil gradient? I've heard 5w, do you agree?
Thanks!
Francesco

Your shocks probably have 5w oil in them now. You can continue to use this, or if you don't get the ride out of it that you want, you can go to 10w oil.
What size are your shocks?
