Guess I was misunderstood. I realize that I can't have both. (snorkel/antenna) I was saying that it shouldn't get to much it the way on the drivers side, in reference to the post right before my last. But thanks for the clarification and looking out for the rookies...

Also, I am no big hurry, a few extra weeks to have OEM is fine by me.... Let me know what hoop I need to jump through, I'll make it happen!

Just to illustrate how incredible of a deal this is.... even the dealer cost for the precleaner in Japan is considerably more than the above price!

I've seen the OEM snorkel for the 80 in person and it IS pretty slick!
I do agree that the precleaner is rather bulbous, but cool nonetheless.

for the 60 but not sure about your model year since it applies for later models of fj60-62 3f motors i believe your's is a 2f, so i am unsure about compatibility.

I got in touch with the dealership and gave them the part numbers! I am currently waiting for a reply from them! I have my fingers crossed in hopes that they have these items!

BTW, I need the shipping address to calculate cost!

Stallion,

cool, i think al sayer or other auto wholesalers should have similar prices, not sure if they can go as low as Dubai, but i know kuwait is tax free as well, so "keep ur fingers crossed"

for shipping east coast should be the cheapest imho, but who knows

on another note, i grew up in kuwait i left it in 87, i still have many friends there. good ppl, and i miss it.

I'm in Southern Utah myself...closer to Las Vegas than anything. So I may not be the best person to receive and distribute (though I would love to do it!), Shipping from Dubai to US may ultimately depend on how many are actually available and who is 100% (as in who has paid up). Can you estimate shipping by using Miami, FL or something like that?

People will LOVE you if these area available!!!

As to compatibility, I'm sure it will just be the same issue that we have over here with the Safaris--our air intake comes off on the opposite side. Nothing people haven't dealt with before.

yes or Jersey or Nyc, if ocea freight, if air freight new york will be one of the cheapest, since it a hub. but sometimes u get better rates from miami, it all depends on there free space and the demand on certain routes.

lol, i should become a snorkel dealer. anyway i am glad to help, as i am a new fj owner myself and i learned a lot here, everyone freely provides info.

as for the availabilty, i dont wana ask him tommorow as i dont wana bombard him with questions regarding stock, lets close it step by step.

i already told him to get my set in order, i have to figure out how i will get it here (lebanon), once i hear from him about the other (35)sets.

then i will go ahead and mention the fj60 snorkels, but as of yet, we have to close it deal by deal, given shipping issue hasn't been adressed yet. but i doubt it will be too much given the volume, but u will defintly need a clearing agent.

also awaiting a reply from the Kuwaiti distributer (via theStallionQ8), kuwait can be a viable option as well.

dang long post!

I'm central US- great for distribution, but not (probobly) the best for recieving the shipment. I also have access to industrial UPS rates (super cheap) but wouldn't want to ship 35 packages through my employer.... might ask a bunch of wierd questions...

What I am worried about is the fact that since such parts are frowned upon by the cops that they won't have it here! Most cars that have snorkels on them are either custom ordered through Al-Sayer, Safari snorkels bought in the local market, or they are imported from abroad through second hand stores! As for Kuwait, it has changed since then and some things are for the best and others are for the worst!

I will see what the cost would be to the major cities on the East Coast and go from there!

Personally, I see no reason at this point to stop anyone from getting on the list--since we don't know how many we can even get. (Not to mention I'll bet when it's $$ time, atleast 25% of this list drop off...)

Depending on how many 80 series ones we find available, you may think about posting up in the 60 series section cause I'd bet there'd still be a pretty good amount of interest in it. We LOVE the OEM stuff over here--especially when it's pretty much un-obtainable.

Dear Fouad

Pls email/ message me contact of the dubai parts dealer.
I am in Karachi Pakistan but am often in Dubai and would

Thanks Ben...I thought you were talking about the tent - Topper, tent, you know...Didn't even notice the snorkel in the picture but yeah, I like the 70 series better than the 80 series version. I like the Safari look the most out of all three

count me in... Shipment can be arranged through a host of Freight forwarding companies but this issue will be who will break down and ship to individuals.

IMOP- ideally the 'bulk' would be shipped to a mudder who would then break down the bulk package into individual packages and ship further.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Just can't quite determine just who that will be till we get the final quantity available...
