1969 Roadrunner - Dual-Quad 383, Muncie 4-spd, 5.13 gears, low 12s on a good day...

Only raced and occasionally drove illegally on the street...

...and yes, I got spanked by both the mustang and the firebird!

1990 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer with 351 engine. Beautiful in its simplicity and very easy to work on. I bought it with 80,000 miles and put another 80,000 miles on it. The only maintenance issue in 10 years was an A/C compressor. The interior room was cavernous - sitting in the captain's chair was like being in your living room. Great truck with a distinctive style. O.J. knew a good ride when he saw one!

72 Chevy Blazer in Old Gold...loved that thing. Regret selling it to this day.

'46 Plymouth Special Deluxe

My first car (in '75-76) was an old 46 plymouth - it had a great body and a rusted out motor.

The only reason that my parents let me buy it was that they figured I would never get it running.

Only problem was that NAPA still sold Flathead 6 shortblocks! So 3 months later I was tearing up the road with that 3 on the tree!

It was a blast.... And could easily fit 5-6 buddies in it....

Did you ever hear that John Elway was a suspect at one time in the OJ case? Yeah, the cops were looking for a slow moving white Bronco.

Rocky, I have a 46 Plymouth sitting in my backyard. 4 doors, rear are the suicide. This one is/was owned by a friend. He asked if he could store it at ny place for a couple months, last November. I recently told him, either find a new home for it, or sign over the title and ill make it my mess. He has goobered the thing up. It would make a neat family cruiser with a bit of time and money!

AFinn -

A buddy of mine has one, a "Special Deluxe" as well. It's pretty rough, but it may get back on the road some day.

Here's a couple pictures of his....

White 86 Toyota standard bed 4x4 pickup with the 22R in it and a 4 speed. Fixed it up with a 6klb warn winch, brush guard, lights, rear tube bumper, Rhino plastic camper, bed kit which turned into a bed with storage, installed split bench seats, cruise control, intermittent wipers a very nice sound system and 31" tires. Bought it stock from the dealer with the only option being the A/C system.

I LOVED THAT TRUCK! Sold it to buy our first house... :crybaby:

My first was a 1984 Scirocco

This car got me lots of girls back in the HS days! :D
Oh the good ol days  I still think this was one of the best looking cars ever made by VW... It was my "little Ferrari " :hillbilly: This pic is of the web, but mine was exactly same color and even same hella square fog lights which are not stock.. I wonder if it's the same car? :hmm: I sold it in mint condition and bought a POS 87 Bronco that I eventually donated to my younger brother with the advice "So you want to learn how to :wrench: eh? Here ya go.. You'll learn or you'll give it back to me" .. then I got a 95 4runner and never left Toyota after that  !
I wish I still had my ol Scirocco! :crybaby:

Bump to resurrect a fun thread

1965 Ford F-100 short bed w/ 300 inline six and three speed on the floor and posi rear end. Drove it for 3 years and gave it to my youngest brother as a graduation gift. He got in a fight with his GF late one night, drove very upset in the rain and taco'd it around a phone pole. He was ok...the truck...not so much...the pole even worse.

Late '60s or early '70s Austin America. This dog of a car could hit 55 mph going down a steep hill and maybe 40 going up one.

Had a positive ground so I had to wrap my stereo head & CB radio in cardboard so they wouldn't touch any metal.

Fun car!

parents never bought me a car, but have always bought my sisters' cars. I bought my first car in 97; a 87 Camaro with 2.8L V6...but dad found it and i didn't really want it.

first that I found and bought because I wanted it was a 78 Bronco with a 400 and factory quad shocks in the front.

first NEW car I bought was a 05 Scion xB.

Bought myself back in 1980 - a 1973 CJ-5 Jeep , color - red with a 232 engine, 4 speed, 3 inch lift and 32" tires with white spoke rims. Swapped in some high back front buckets seats from a Pinto I picked up from a salvage yard.
