Has anybody had any experience with the 4" lift which Downey sells?

All comments welcome.

Thanks!

I ran it for a year. I was pretty happy with it. Run some Rancho 9000's to help with driving on the road. I did rub running 35's but I was running 2.5" backspaced rims, so might be a different story with more backspacing.

I`ve had the Downey 4" springs for about 2 1/2 years.Skyjacker shocks and extended shackles. They flex well, ask Junk.I plow with my truck and have entered in several Tough Truck compititions,so far so good.

I got em too. No rub with 35 x 12.5's. Decent flex.

I cut front and rear, more like shaved the rears and cut the fronts. It was more or less done to eliminate the ugliness of rust.

Do you both have cut rear fenders I assume?
Sorry,I`m running 35x10.5 SSR Swampers.Original wheell well `cept for the few inches cut off the bottom. No body lift.HTH

I had them about a year with extended shackles and reversed rear. I like them. Much better riding than pinnacle. Have been running 35's but just changed to 37's. And by the way I am using 4 rear springs only. I get a little more height this way.

i hope it just takes a while to break in cause magoo's got em and it doesn't flex for crap.

When did Magoo get them?I`m wondering if Downey swithced vendors at one point.I`ve heard a few say they didn`t like them, too stiff or something.

he should have purchased some Pinnacle springs huh... ;)

The springs are made by NHK, who is an OE vendor for Toyota and Mitsubishi. I sell them too.;)

I recently installed a set of these springs on my 40 and find them to be EXTREMELY flexible. I have been selling and installing these springs for many years now, and have only heard secondhand about one person who was unhappy. Now that I have confirmed how soft they are on my own rig, I am even happier to promote them. I should have some pictures of them on the trail in a few more weeks.

If you search for Downey in this section (or search for threads started by me) you will find my write-up on the Downey 4 inch kit.

I run Doetsch-Tech 8000's (like Downey recomends) and like the ride.

My 40 still feels like a short wheelbase vehicle, but the ride is acceptable.

I flipped the rear spring pack, and cut the rear tub to get ~4 inches of add'l wheelbase.

I have wheeled a few times since the install. Articulation is adequate. I would not say I have crazy droop, but it works.

Good Luck!
