Hey all,

Those of you who have successfully installed an York (doesn't matter which size) in your 80, can you tell me the head temp using an IR gun? Basically this is the piece directly on top of the York. I'm just trying to get an idea of what is considered normal based on our application.

Mine is around 200 deg F after it has a chance to cycle on/off couple of times. I'm running a synthetic 5w40 motor oil, about 14 oz. Please don't touch this surface with your bare hand after it's been running for a while ;)

Thanks.

Bump to the top!

It's dang hot, Ali, that's all I know. I need to fix a few leaks then will get mine working again (before Moab), but we've got an IR gun at work so I can record a few measurements. Until then, all I can say is it's hot enough to swell then render uselss that cheap red hose from Lowes.
