Assuming I still have a job in a month(major layoffs and reorgs going on) I'm going to kick down for lower xfer case gears for the 4Runner. I've pretty much decided on going with Marlin since he builds great stuff, doesn't skip on quality and it's as strong as you can get.

Can't decide between running duals or a single case w/ a 4.7 or 5.0 low range gear. With the duals it's about $2K, plus driveline work, plus cutting new holes in the tranny tunnel and having to relocate the switches. But I get lower and many more gears.

If I run a single w/ a 5.0, that should be low enough for anything I want to do(Rubicon, Dusy, etc). I'll also do a twin stick so I can run in low 2wd(running a true trac in the front makes this really nice to have). Plus I don't think I will need to cut any new holes in the tranny tunnel.

Thoughts, suggestions, experience?

I would say to go with a single 4.7 gears.
Less mods proven tough.
Check out the marlin forum and they will
be able to give you all of the pros and cons of each ;)
