Where does a guy get the front axle seals for a 40? NAPA has to get them from Denver, the Toyota dealer has to order them too! What gives? Its just a freakin grease seal?? My new cut and turned housing didn't have any. My old ones are fine, but I doubt I can get them out in 1 piece! CRAP!!!

Toyota man....

Just like pool....think the next couple shots ahead, and you will not be sitting on your projects. ;)

Where are you located?

Toyota x2

I haven't found a aftermarket seal that fits as good as the toyota ones.

When you order them order 4. Then you won't be in a bind next time. ;)

Hell,

They are cheap enough I would have a couple more than that on hand...You might just trash a couple installing them.... ;)

Good luck!

I'm in Omaha NE. I don't know about cheap though, I was thinking the dealer said they were like $12 each or something?? And you are right Poser, now I'm sitting on my project with a week to go til Moab! Guess I'll work on my cage instead.

You have PM.

Dealer is probably confusing the wheel bearing seal and the inner axle seal....

90311-33085....They are 5 and change....

90311-62001....Wheel bearing seal is 14 and change...

For what it is worth, I pulled mine last week and didn't fubar them at all. If your really in a bind try to pull your old ones. I would still put new in though. Keep your old ones as spares.

How'd you get em out? Did you get something behind them and drive them out?

Very carefully with a bearing puller. (couldn't mind my seal puller)

Duh. A puller. I feel stupid now. Yea, I'll try that tonight. I got some on order also though.
Thanks
Tom
