I Need mine rebuilt, so I am putting a feeler out there to see if anyone has one for sale from a wreck or anything like that!! P.M. me if you do!!

I figure this would be cheaper then getting mine rebuilt!!

Darren,as a couple of fuel injection shops here have explained to me,these are not lasting as long as other pumps Toyota have used.
Most of them need an overhaul before 200000klms . Some claim to have used a pusher pump to make up for bad pump pressure but I think this will only help if the transfer pump inside is shot.

The cost of a used pump is never cheap, even dead rebuildables go for $3-400 in oz.
Unless it has genuine low klms, I would bite the bullet and rebuild and know its good for a few years to come
There is about 4 main places they wear, the shaft, the piston, the head and the housing.
A new pump should give you power you never knew was there;)

the injection pump should be standard bosch so any diesel injection service place should be able to rebuild it for about 500$ that is if you pull it and take it in....good luck

Depends on what is worn, some of the individual parts are over $500. Denso have used a Bosch design but the parts are unique to this pump AFAIK

I would try to get some sort of estimate on a complete rebuild from a local fuel injection shop which is Bosche / Denso certified - recognizing as Rosco says that some parts are more expensive then others if they need replacing. I don't think you will find any place in Canada which will rebuild this pump for $500. I would think a decent price would be more like $1200. Then you might want to compare the cost of a rebuilt pump from Hiflo in Australia. In my case, it would have saved me about $800 to get it from Auss and bolt it on myself - including the shipping.

i got a quote for the rebuild $1000-$1200, really what was explained to me was that the seals are bad and need to be replaced. I don't know for sure, but i would guess that things seem to be running fine. The only time there is a problem is when it is cold, it was explained to me that the gaskets are shrinking in the cold, fuel is returning to the tank, and air is in the fuel system. This is what Raj at holmes injection told me!!

Canucksafari, Rosco, Anyone!!, can you help me out with ordering the rebuilt pump!! not sure how to reach these guys??

thanks,

roscoFJ73, Fred Holmes is one of the main shops that see a lot of JDM pump and injector work for importers and the public around the Vancouver area. One of the main fella's in the shop worked in Oz at an injection shop for years...hense the Oz connection.

His knowledge will be very useful then. Denso pumps are their bread and butter income here
