While I'm thinking about it, anyone use a shop in dfw area with confidence? I'm kinda lazy and wouldn't mind kicking the tires of a shop to get a lift put on my rig. Prob going to go the safe route and use an OME setup but these still require KDSS equalization and all the other headaches that come with lifting 200's (MS Cruiser's write up was fantastic btw).

Nah, man. Got for it. If you screw it up, just have someone else fix it. You will learn more that way.

Toyota of Dallas do the installs on all of TRDParts4u aftermarket parts since they are one in the same :)

I ordered our XV-2 trailer from these guys in Durant: http://explorationoutfitters.com/ Seem very sincere and willing but I'm not sure on their level 200 experience. Matt would be a good person to talk to there.

We do everything we can ourselves though I hate a/c work so always farm that out :hillbilly:. We also have difficulty finding time so will need someone to trust on the 200 eventually, I'm sure.

That's normally how I do stuff. The best experience is generally born of failure IMHO. However, I really hate the scenario where someone else screws up my stuff and I have to fix it. I guess I have trust issues especially since I've had to change my own oil on my own LC at a Toyota dealer.

Thanks, I'll give him a shout. I'm acquainted with a human who had some jeep work done by those boys. Nice work it looked like to me but it was a jeep, I'm sure it wasn't their first time.

I definitely agree on doing it myself but just once, just once it would be nice to simply pay the money and have something done right.

Most all of the install items on my 200 were done by Toyota of McKinney (Pat Lobb).. Service advisor there is Doug Ranzer, good dude. My LC is there now, recently *soaked* in a creek - got all carpet wet - needs computers, wiring harnesses, connectors.. Ugh. Previous owner also used this place in Denton a few times I believe: http://www.lonestar4by4.com/

Drive up to Slee off-road in Golden Colo. drop it off rent a car for a couple of days he will do all your needed mod's and you will know it done right.

I'm thinking this is the way to go. Unfortunately, our spring break has us headed to the four corners/Grand Canyon/Sedona area next week instead of up into Colorado. Perhaps a "ski trip" next year can be negotiated ;)

This is what I want to do someday...

I drove from Vegas at about 125k miles had him do lift, diff drop, step rock sliders, spark plugs, all fluids synthetics, repack wheel bearings, T's. Everything baselined even though mine was well maintained by the book, I wanted to zero everything in on that trip by the best. Since then I've done new BFG AT/KO's 33's and new hoses. Guess I'm kind of Anal :). Now I have 133k miles on my 2005 LX470 and 30k miles on my LX570 and my wife is moving me back to Maui and I have to pick one to take to Maui and sell the other one. Feels like the movie "Sophia's choice"

Toyota of McKinney does this stuff. Toyota of Dallas is good for routine maintainance. Download the Toyota Owners app for your phone for service coupons.
