Hello All.

Toyota stopped importing Diesel and Standard Transmission Land Cruiser's to North American in 1989.
The 80 and 100 series have only ever been available in a Auto and Gas in North America.
I have been recently thinking wondering something.
Who would want a Diesel and Standard transmission option if made available?

What I am wondering is how big of market is Toyota leaving out here?

I for one would want a Standard transmission and diesel.

Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

If they offered a standard with cloth seats and few options I would have gotten one.

Instead, I bought this one. They are not leaving out a "market", it's not like I could get a similar large V8 suv without these features.

We've all said it but I'd have a 105 in a heartbeat without thinking twice about a 100. What's important here is that I may even consider paying $$ for a NEW Toyota with the options I want; as it is I wait until depreciation sets in so I can justify getting LCs with options I really don't want.

Anyway, they're leaving out a market no doubt. I would estimate maybe 500+ units per year (maybe double that). 500 units ain't nothin' to Toyota USA though; they don't care about their enthusiasts like us. I'm not saying doing so is a good business decision, but it's a cold hard fact, we trade these things USED, not new.
