Love to put the windows down and crank the music but of course that caused my 15 year old speakers to blow, specifically the passenger front. Don't know a ton about audio but I do know these speakers are all 2ohm and to keep the factory amp working I have to go back with 2ohm. I got a quote to swap over all speakers including sub to a mid range Alpine 4 ohm with a 5 channel amp for about $1250.00. I have the factory Nav unfortunately too. My question is to those that have had both is it worth the money to do all of that or is it not that much of an "audio upgrade"? I know speaker quality determines a good bit of that but my local stereo shop(which I trust a decent amount) said he just quoted a good middle of the road speaker. Would just rather put my money towards a front bumper and winch but if it makes a pretty big difference I guess I'll invest it into the stereo and just be done. Thoughts??

I put new foam on my speakers and they're sounding good now. I'd bet that's all you need to do as well.

I have a Land Cruiser, but to give you an idea about cost of a refoam:

For both front speakers: 2000-2007 Toyota Land Cruiser 86160-0W340 Speaker Woofer Foam Repair Kit (Pair) | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-2007-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-86160-0W340-Speaker-Woofer-Foam-Repair-Kit-Pair/114159368442?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

For the Subwoofer: 86150-0W010 Repair Kit Fits 2001-2007 Lexus LX-470 Subwoofer FSK-6bt-1 (SINGLE) 20012007 | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/86150-0W010-Repair-Kit-Fits-2001-2007-Lexus-LX-470-Subwoofer-FSK-6bt-1-SINGLE/130698667123?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Obviously you would want to get the kit(s) for your car. It's a fairly easy process that will have your speakers out of commission for about a day while you wait for the glue to dry.

I have 4ohm doors (reformed cargo base). 2004 w nav.

System does work well.

I think the only hit using 4 vs 2 is decrease of clean hi volume.

Note that originals were foam shot, so can't compare to Oem.

I just reformed my front woofers yesterday using the Simply Speaker kit. On one side the foam had completely deteriorated. The other side crumbled at the touch. Predictably, the sound is much fuller and overall sounds pretty good to me. I won’t replace the speakers unless I have to replace the ML amp.
