I was there and saw the car. Truely an amazing piece of engineering. I have heard the cost of the vehicle was between 14-17 mill. All very nice people with a first class crew.

The other story that will sadley overlooked was the boys from Iowa that were the first diesel powered vehicle to travel over 300mph. They set the record last week just before the JCB streamliner.

I am not putting the feat down by any means. However, I do enjoy the good old boys winning.

They can certianly claim the fastest truck in a 1/4 mile. But not the Worlds fastest Diesel Truck.

I guess that I am the only guy that feels like, big deal, they hit 300mph in a streamliner. Call me when you get to the 400 mph+ club that the gas streamliners are in. I am much more impressed by the Gale Banks street legal diesel pickup that ran 225 mph or so both ways, after having driven 700 miles to Bonniville towing a trailer, and then being driven back home.

The Sidewinder was/is an option truck. I am sure we have not seen the last of Gale Banks on the Salt.
