won't shift out of 4x4, not the vaccume switch

I've got a 87 bj74, done a bit of work to it since I bought it. I replaced the front drive shaft seal at the transfer case, and shortly after that, my truck won't shift out of 4wd? if I pull it from 2h into neutral, the light comes off, if I put in in 2h, the light comes on regardless of what position the button is in. I checked underneith, and the shaft is spinning. I switched the two vaccume lines that lead to the transfer case and drove it around the block, but nothing happened in any position. Anyone have any ideas or tests to try to trouble shoot?

Have you checked the vacuum and the solenoid valves? You can remove the vacuum assembly and shift it by hand to see if the t/case is stuck.
