I’m sure things are fine, but I got a shipping notification 6/30/22 from Wits-last tracking info is “Shipping label created-USPS awaiting item.” I’m not in a hurry. The nearly mythical QPM will get here eventually.

So @NLXTACY, should I be concerned that the USPS has taken my QPM to add onboard air to their little mail truck?

It’s nicer than I expected, and I expected a lot! @NLXTACY thanks for designing and implementing a super nice piece of kit.

The coolest mod i have seen by far ! Amazing work !

The model i have is the UAE version, which has an AC at the back, as far as I can tell (until i take the panel off lol) this is where the rear AC equipment is.
I will need to take some pics and figure out how much space i have before even considering the mod.

Long story short amazing work mate and love the mod :D :D

So what’s the general consensus these days on running a dedicated ground to the QPM versus using a body ground and a larger ground strap on the battery?

I’ve almost always run dedicated grounds, but I’d really rather just pull a single 2awg for the 100a peak I’ll have back there…

Funny you should ask 🤔

I’ve been remiss in not posting pics of my QPM install. The Redarc BCDC1240, Bluesea breakers and fuse block, Victron Bluetooth shunt and Wagan 1000watt inverter. To make matters worse I didn’t get a good shot before it was buttoned up. Next time the panel’s off I’ll get more pics.

Love seeing everyone's installs.

I plan on using the ML-ACR and 2 gauge wire to connect the dual battery setup, but from the switchable breaker what is the recommended gauge ran back to the 1/4 panel mount to supply power?

What size is everyone stepping down to after the fuse blocks?

I am looking to have a really clean setup like the photo below...

I plan on running WeBoost, CB/GMRS radio, compressor power all off a Blue Sea 12 fuse distribution block. Are the extra buses in this picture needed for the aforementioned items?

Can I safely wire in extra USB ports in the back using the distribution block?

What if I plan on running some type of inverter, what is needed to supply power? Are the larger buses needed?

Sorry for all the newb questions.

Sweet! Love to see this. You can cetainly use the fuse block to power USB chargers and the like. Keep in mind that you have a finite amount of power to divide up amongst everything wired into that block. If you plan to include an inverter you'll want to separate it from the fuse block. It"ll need a seperate circuit breaker. Try to make sure that your inverter has a remote switch that you can mount somewhere accessible when the plastic cover is on.

I'd consider getting one of the Midland MXT units that you can hide up front under your dash. The controls are on the handheld mic. You'd need to tap into some power up front but I'm guessing you don't use your cigarette lighter very often.

I do not use the cigarette lighter for its intended purpose, currently in use to power the We Boost temporarily.

For my GMRS I am looking at the Midland MXT275, then adding a Midland 3 dB gain antenna that will be mounted up front using the antenna mount from Massive Metal.

So you’ll run a line from the rear up front to an RJ45 plug for the controls/mic?
