Today I was driving home from work and I saw what looked like a miniturized Hummer from the front. When I looked closer it was a Heep with some sort of body kit on the nose and squared off rear fender flares! WTF!? Is this some new sort of craze? Making your woefully uncabable Wrangler LOOK like something that can actually go off road? I guess it kinda like those ricers putting "Type R" badges on everything... Has anyone seen any of these things? I really wish I had a pic.

DAm, I'm 2000 miles north of you, and I'd swear I saw the same thing today. I just happened to glance back down a street and briefly spied what looked like a miniture hummer (H2). Bright red .. I thought to myself, that must be a new Jeep or something .. wtf??

Those are kits that have been available for about 4 years now. Don't remember the name, but the Jeep dealers here sell them that way new off of the lot (+5K over regular Jeep price).

I think I first saw one on the lot when I looked at buying a new '01....(Thank God I bought a 'Runner instead!)

I've heard it called the "Humjeep". Just a body kit, like ground effects for a jeep, heard it increases compensation for a dinky :censor: . A couple of my jeep friends get real excited about it  but then their heeps are on blocks all summer while they're ridin in my cruiser :D .

Well I've seen the kits that make a heep into a mini H1, but this thing looked like a small H2. Do they kits for that as well?

    Maybe an H3?

The picture really doesn't show you how much smaller than an H2 it is.

Yup that's it, the one I saw was in white...actually the full conversion kit a couple posts up in green looks kinda cool. I'd build a tube frame for it with a bad arse drivetrain.

One of the kits was called the "Bummer." Odd name choice I thought. I think AMG or GM forced them to quit making it though. The Hummer golf cart cracked me up.
