My 80 has a Kaymar bumper, and I need to set up trailer wiring using a 7-pin (round) connector. The trailer is set up for LC lights - amber AND red. Current wiring is is the little flat 4-pin combined run/turn/ brake usual on small trailers. In addition, the PO had some fun with wiring, and I would prefer to start with a more sanitary set-up.

The question - is there a trailer harness plug on the 80? My FSM wiring diagram shows a "trailer connector" on some of the diagrams, but zero detail on the location or pin outs that I can find. I thought I'd simply fab a harness with the connections I need, and plug it in to the main harness. I am not wiring challenged, just need to figure out where the connector to the harness physically is, and determine the pin-out details.

Assuming that there is a harness connetor, anybody have a part number for the compatible plug-in?

Any help appreciated.

The "trailer connector" does not apply to North American models. The port-installed unit was a splice-in converter and an NMMA (National Marine Manufacturer Association) flat 4 prong. Hoppy makes a plug-in that does not require splicing but it too is a 4 prong flat and has a converter. If you are running seprate brake and turn on the trailer you are going to need to fab a custom harness to suit.

OK, Dan. Looks like I will be doing this the hard way. Thanks.
